CPTV HOOP streams FAQs



Why aren’t all games shown on Hoop Streams?

Due to rights issues, we are only able to stream those games produced by CPTV. Games produced by CSTV that are also simulcast on CPTV cannot be streamed. Those rights have not been granted to us by CSTV.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not sign up for a Pay-Per-View event more than 24 hours before the event is scheduled to begin!

What if I forget my username or password?
Please call Customer Service toll-free at 888-596-9279 or call Harriet Unger, executive producer of UConn Women's Basketball, toll-free at 1-800-683-1899, ext. 7290.

My username and/or password aren't working.
The fields are case sensitive: You must enter your username and password exactly as you registered them .

Do I have to subscribe for the whole season or can I just pay to see one game?
You have options! You may subscribe for the season in order to see all of the games we stream, plus all of The Geno Auriemma Shows. A season subscription is $44.95. Or you may choose a monthly subscription for $19.95 or the Pay-Per-View per game option for $9.95. The monthly subscription runs for 30 days from the date of your sign-up; however, monthly subscriptions are automatically renewed unless you notify us that you wish to cancel.

**PLEASE NOTE: On monthly subscriptions, you will automatically be charged each month until you cancel.

We accept MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card only.

 

Once I have subscribed to Hoop Streams, how do I access the games?

Go to www.cptv.org, click on UConn Women's Basketball and then on Hoop Streams. Click on the “Watch Game Live” link.

If you log on to watch the game earlier than the start time*, you may see other video or a black Windows Media Player screen, or you may get an error message, prior to the start of the event.

*Please do not try to log in until 15 minutes prior to a game or The Geno Auriemma Show.

I'm not sure how to access the games or the archives.

What will I need in order to watch the game?

You will need a high-speed broadband Internet connection; a Mac or a PC; and Windows Media Player.

I signed up, but I can't see the video. I can't access the Internet broadcast. What do I do?

There may be any number of reasons that you are having problems with the Hoop Streams video.

First, in order to view the Hoop Streams please make sure your PC or Macintosh computer meets these requirements:

You must have a high-speed broadband Internet connection such as DSL, cable modem or T1/T3. A dial-up connection will not work.

You need to be using Internet Explorer as your default Web browser.

Hoop Streams is available using Windows Media Player only.

If you don't have Windows Media Player, or would like a newer version, you can download one free of charge by going to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.aspx

Other reasons include:
Your computer may be too old or the processor is too slow.

You may have too many applications open. Please note: You should not be running any other applications in the background at the same time. There may be congestion or a problem with your ISP (Internet Service Provider), or your DSL connection download rate may too slow.

DSL customers, please contact your provider and request the highest (fastest) download speed they offer. They MAY charge you an additional fee for the higher speeds.

Can I access the basketball games using a dial-up Internet connection?
No, you may only view the games using a high-speed broadband Internet connection.

I already subscribed and I don't have broadband.
Please call Customer Service toll-free at 888-596-9279 to get your refund. CPTV is not able to issue refunds directly.

When I log in, I am immediately brought back to the log-in screen again. Why does this happen?
It could be that the cookies in your browser are disabled. Make sure your cookies are enabled. Use your Help Menu on your Internet Explorer to perform this function.

Where can I get technical support?
For technical support, click on DRM Networks compatibility test. It will download diagnostics to check your computer. Please turn off any pop up blockers before running the test.


Does my subscription include The Geno Auriemma Shows?
Yes.

Do I have to watch the UConn games live as they are played?
No! All programs will be placed in the Hoop Stream Archive two hours after the live stream concludes. As long as your subscription is valid, you may watch the games whenever it is convenient for you — as many times as you wish. The same is true for all of The Geno Auriemma Shows.

To view a program, find the game or show that interests you, click on the underlined name (the link) of the program, which is located below the date.

As a season subscriber, you will be able to watch these programs as often as you wish through April 15, 2008.

As a monthly subscriber, you may watch as often as you wish for 30 days from the time you signed up. Please note that monthly subscriptions are automatically renewed unless you notify us that you wish to cancel.

As a Pay-Per-View subscriber, you may watch during the 48 hours from the time you signed up.
